My Thesis Project
1/2/3/4
The components of b.fly include a brand and branded products, an online community, and "b.fly challenges.

I graduated from Carnegie Mellon University with a Master's of Design in Communication Planning and Information Design. Both my thesis paper and project were inspired by my interest in the role that design can play in social change.

For my thesis project I designed a program called b.fly, which was created with and for a group of 11 to 14 year old girls. b.fly is a community of girls who are committed to living active lifestyles. They are a member of a web community which enables them to schedule weekly exercise routines and to share activities and expertise with one another."b.fly challenges" bring the girls together to be active as a group. Upon completion of challenges they receive points that allow them to go online and choose b.fly gear. The b.fly girls proudly wear and use their gear as a symbol and reward of their commitment to this way of life. Please take a look at my final thesis presentation.
